Megha Saklani (She/Her)

Megha Saklani (She/Her) is a licensed rehabilitation & counselling psychologist registered with the RCI. Trained primarily in clinical psychology and psychotherapy, she is highly passionate about the continuous evolution of mental health and learning newer forms of therapy to help improve the quality of life for people struggling with mental illnesses.

 

Her approach to psychotherapy is an integrative one where various techniques of different therapies can be put to use to devise a single personalised treatment plan for each client. Her niche lies in working with clients who have concerns of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, childhood & complex trauma as well as personality disorders. She has an eye for detail with empathy and compassion for the nuances each client carries with them. Megha is currently under training for EMDR level 1.

Saumya Vatsa (She/Her)

Saumya has completed her Bachelors in Psychology and  Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology/ Neuropsychology. As a psychologist, Saumya adopted a Narrative and a trauma informed approach, valuing the uniqueness of each individual she worked with. Recognizing the significance of cultural and social contexts, she expanded her expertise by engaging in research and facilitator roles focused on children and adolescents.

Saumya's therapeutic approach has evolved to incorporate various modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotional Regulation, Transference Focused Work. She remains dedicated to tailoring her methods to meet the specific needs and contexts of each client. Above all, Saumya believes in fostering a genuine, transparent, and respectful space where she can walk alongside her clients on their therapeutic journeys. She has a Diploma in Narrative Therapy and Community Work and training for EMDR Level 1. Additionally, she has been a part of a research project on mental health of adolescent inmates in remand in a district jail as a primary investigator
. She has completed her POSH awareness training in a corporate setup.

Ria Malik(She/Her)

Ria Malik is a counselling psychologist. She has completed her Bachelor of Science with honours (B.Sc.) in Psychology and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mental Health- Psychological Therapies from University of London, UK.

She has previously worked as a Mental Health Practitioner, Assistant Psychologist, Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant, and a Mental Health Peer Support Worker in the UK. She has been trained to work with adults and children and young people to support their mental wellbeing. 

She has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, PTSD, depression, anger, stress, grief and other mental health related concerns.

Preet Mataliya (She/Her)

Preet is a counselling psychologist, she has completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Maniben Nanavati Women’s College, Mumbai. She works with a humanistic and relational approach, integrating cognitive, art-based and somatic techniques, while grounding her practice in a trauma-informed, grief-sensitive and queer-affirmative lens.

For Preet, the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work, it is intentional, authentic and built on a foundation of safety and trust. She supports adolescents and adults in navigating a wide range of concerns, including life transitions, career and academic stress, relationships, bereavement, abuse, anxiety and emotional regulation. She walks alongside clients as they explore the ways past experiences, identities and relationships shape the present while opening space for new possibilities of growth, healing and self-discovery.

Zidane & Zeke 

Zidane and Zeke are our in-house therapists who you will find in our therapy room or in and around. They are always there for the team with their cuddles and slurps. They are a very integral part of Maitreyee.

Their hobbies include bird watching, sitting on the therapist's chair in the therapy room, stealing food from everyone's plate, fighting with each other and above all being there for each other and everyone at Maitreyee.
